- Is SMS LOCAL free?
Interchange does not charge you to use SMS LOCAL. However, your wireless provider’s
standard rates for text messages still apply. Check with your carrier
for information.
- How long does it take to receive a response once I send a text message to SMS LOCAL?
Generally, SMS LOCAL returns a response to your search
within seconds. However, response times may take longer depending on
latencies in your carrier’s network.
- Will SMS LOCAL work on my mobile phone or device?
SMS LOCAL will work on text-message enabled mobile phones and wireless devices (see
number 4).
- Does SMS LOCAL work
with all wireless carriers?
The Beta version of SMS LOCAL is currently configured to work with the Cingular, AT&T, Verizon, Nextel, and T-Mobile networks.
- Is Interchange’s SMS LOCAL service available everywhere?
You can use the SMS LOCAL service anywhere your mobile phone or
wireless device works.
- What geographic areas can I receive SMS LOCAL business listings for?
SMS LOCAL provides
nationwide access to over ten million U.S. businesses.
- Does SMS LOCAL work
in other languages?
SMS LOCAL works in the English language at this
time. We are working on other languages for future releases.
- Does sending a text message use the minutes on
my mobile phone plan?
Sending a text message
does not use the minutes on your mobile phone plan. However, your
wireless carrier may charge you for text messages. Check with your
carrier for more information.
- Can I get SMS LOCAL
help using my mobile phone or wireless device?
Receive a text help message by sending a text message containing the word help or simply an h to 56225 from
your mobile phone or wireless device.
- Can I use SMS LOCAL
to look up residential phone numbers?
SMS LOCAL does not currently provide access to
residential phone listings. However, this will be added in future
releases.
- What kind of landmarks does SMS LOCAL support?
SMS LOCAL gives you the ability to search near tens of thousands of landmarks throughout the U.S. including the following types:
- Airports (LAX, Los Angeles Airport, JFK)
- Stadiums and Arenas (Wrigley Field, Anaheim
Stadium)
- Historical Landmarks (Empire State Building,
Yosemite National Park)
- Monuments (Washington Monument, Lincoln
Memorial)
- Shopping Centers (The Great Mall, Mall of
America)
- Golf Courses (Pebble Beach Golf Course, Augusta National Golf Club)
